Sound healing is gaining track as the newest form of relaxation and transformation. But what is sound healing exactly, is it just a new fad, that will disappear into the vast cosmos a healing tools?
As a sound healing practitioner for over 10 years, I am here to tell you that sound healing is one of the most profound and transformative therapies available. To understand why, let’s start with the basics: science has shown that every cell in our body vibrates. This vibration is not just a biological function—it represents our life force, our energy. And just like musical instruments, vibrations interact. When our body’s natural frequency comes into contact with a healing vibration—through sound—it begins to shift.
This is where sound healing begins: vibration influencing vibration, bringing the body, mind, and energy field back into harmony.
Our bodies consist of 80% water which is an excellent carrier of vibration.
For therapy, only therapeutic bowls, which have been tested, can be used. And here I'm quite fastidious, as a therapist my primary concern is the wellbeing of my clients. I will only use tested bowls, so that the bowl's frequencies are aligned with the body, creating a harmonious field of frequency and vibration.
My sessions always begin with a short body scan, I place my hands lightly above on the body, to be able to read the energy levels, sense if there is a need for release or realignment. This enables me to use the right bowls for that session.
The singing bowls are placed on the body and then around the body, finally under the table. The client is surrounded by the soothing, harmonic tones of the bowls, which bring a deep sense of calm and inner alignment.
The brain is lulled into an almost trance like state, ,most often into the Alpha State and sometimes into the Delta state. It is here that the brain and mind regenerates the fastest. Elevating anxiety, stress and reducing blood pressure.
The key to a successful sound healing session, largely depends on the quality of the bowls, the energy of the practitioner, and the participant's willingness to surrender. And it is even successful if the latter is not forthcoming.
